Based on the overwhelming success of this research in identifying and articulating the needs of this vulnerable population, this initiative has grown from a pilot in Morris County, New Jersey published in 2009, to the entire state of New Jersey in 2012, and now to the national level with ALICE Reports in 19 states and more on the way.

Currently, United Way of Northern New Jersey spearheads a collaborative effort of United Ways and other nonprofits  in a growing number of states across the country. Leadership for the initiative includes:

  • Kiran Gaudioso, Chief Executive Officer

  • John Franklin, Chief Executive Officer Emeritus

  • Stephanie Hoopes, Ph.D., Lead Researcher
